John and I, laying in bed, talking about some new medication.

Me: “So, what are the side effects again?”
John: “Irritability, insomnia and diarrhea.”
Me: “Right, so if –”
John, interrupting: “Can’t sleep, I’m poopin’!”
Me: ::dissolves into helpless laughing::
John: “Auuuugh! *FFFffffttttttttppppptttthhhhhhh* Augh!”

Rain (by Heather-L)
Doing my part to conserve water. Our gutters overflow in two places when it rains, so we put big storage bins out there to catch water. They hold about 30 gallons each and we use them to water the garden plants.

OMGcat! (by Heather-L)
The Stump FLIPPED OUT when we brought home this box of flushable cat litter. Apparently the photo on the front is enough to make her think her mom is a traitor and that her home is being invaded, because she spent a full 10 minutes (this is the cat who can open cabinets and who figured out the laser pointer in less than a week) staring this cat down and attacking it.

Taking Orlando by storm!, originally uploaded by Heather-L.

Orlando in Feb!!

www.stylizedportraiture.com/orlandoft.html
I’m Heather Lickliter of Stylized Portraiture. I normally work out of Athens, Georgia, but in February 2009, Robyn Pollman of Buttons and Bows Photography in Orlando is sponsoring a week of Fairytale sessions. These sessions will be held in the stunning Kraft Azalea Gardens in northern Orlando. The time of year we’ll be doing these means that the azaleas wil be in full bloom by then, complimenting the Spanish moss covered trees and making an unforgettable background to these storybook photo sessions.

Kraft Azalea Gardens
Alabama Avenue
Winter Park, FL 32789

February 19th - 25th

I will be bringing a selection of enchanting fairy and princess costumes with wings and crowns. These couture gowns fit girls between 1.5yrs and 8yrs old and feature gorgeous embellishments like crystals and embroidery. These sessions will last up to two hours each and we’ll go through 2-3 dresses for photos (depending on the child). I make each session as much about the experience as the photos. The thing I hear the most during my sessions is when the little girl walks up to a stranger in the park and says “I’m a REAL princess!” I will direct each girl as needed, but the best photos are often completely candid.

In order to make this trip possible, there will be a minimum of eight sessions for girls 1.5 - 8 at $150 for each session. Sibling sessions are the same price, but please contact me to make sure I can accommodate more than 2 girls. If there is a large response, my trip time may be extended. When you call to book your slot, I will get a credit card number from you, but NO card will be charged until the minimum 8 slots are claimed. If you need to cancel your session and no replacement is found, you will still be charged. To book, either call 706.338.4414 or email heather@stylizedportraiture.com.

Just as an FYI, Vanilla Honey Bee is great. It’s normal vanilla with a little silky honey aftertaste. Plus, it helps honey bees!

The Stump (by Heather-L)
The Stump is non-plussed with her mommy’s camera love.

Lap (by Heather-L)
She sleeps in my lap while I work.

Pasta (by Heather-L)
I finally found radiator pasta again, for the first time in a year! I bought three boxes of it, and celebrated with some garlic chicken pasta.

Also, my dreams were seriously muddled last night, but I was dreaming about Meredith. I was REALLY REALLY sad and crying in the dream, as if it had just happened again. It’s already been six months without Mere, and a little over a year since Sabina left. I’m very heavy in my heart today, and very thankful for little things like my Stumpy and good pasta.

Last night, I had an entertaining dream… I was in the frozen arctic somewhere. Seriously, it looked like Ironforge in WoW. Heaps of snow. Anyway, I had to help out with an overpopulation os intelligent bears. There were too many, so we (the research group I was with) set out looking for the head concentration of them. To do this, we strapped remote control video cameras to surfboards (surfboards in the frozen north, yes) and threw them down the mountain. But the bears ate them, so I had to go out alone. I happened upon a cave with a hermit inside. He was really mean and forced me to smother some wild dog puppies with a pizza box (yeah, a pizza box!!?!). After they died, he left and in tears, I picked up the cold lifeless puppies and held them against my warm neck and they came back to life. I woke up really scared that the guy was going to come back and make me kill them again.

Allergies are kicking my ass this year though. My nose hasn’t stopped in a week and my eyes are crusted up with gunk for three days. I have some eyedrops that a friend gave me years ago, but they expired in 2005!  I tore the house apart looking for them, but now I’m not so sure I want to chance my eyes on expired meds. No insurance means that I’ll have to suffer through this year without them, I guess. My session today called to reschedule and said her 18mo old was grumpy and I was thinking “I wonder if the poor kid feels like I do!”
